Treatments

Malignant Tumour Surgery

What Is It?

What does it involve?

This consists of the complete surgical removal of the tumour with minimal scarring to subsequently produce an optimum aesthetic and functional result by means of reconstruction techniques.

When it is carried out?

It is indicated for all cases and requires pathological examination (biopsy) of the tumour to confirm the diagnosis and the total resection of the lesion.

Prior examination

A comprehensive eye and eyelid examination. Depending on the type of suspected tumour, in some cases, supporting diagnostic tests are required.

Before the Surgery

Patients should not take anticoagulants or aspirin before surgery.

Surgery

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and, in some cases, sedation. It is sometimes necessary to use tissue grafts to reconstruct the eyelid correctly.

Risks

There are no significant risks to take into account.
